Ms Gabriella Plaza has worked for Cambridge University Hospitals for over three years. She initially worked in a variety of outpatient units as an administrator, where she was introduced to patient care and clinical research in a hospital setting. Through an introduction to one of the lead hepatologists at CUH, she began working on the NIHR’s Health Informatics Collaborative (HIC). In this role, she coded patient data for inclusion in one of HIC’s key therapeutic areas, hepatitis.
Recently, Gabriella has joined the Cambridge Clinical Informatics research team as a research assistant. While she will continue to build the clinical database for hepatitis patients for HIC, she will also expand her role to develop key tools for researchers that want to use CUH’s new eHospital for clinical and research studies. One of Gabriella’s current projects is to develop the data dictionary or codebook of clinical data within the eHospital system, which will be te ‘Rosetta Stone’ that enables researchers to understand the data that are available for ethically approved research and how these relate to the patient-healthcare provider interaction.
Gabriella left Cambridge Clinical Informatics in 2017.
