Ms Karen Hosking is an ‘Oncology Clinical Informatics Developer’ for ovarian cancer. The ovarian cancer research team is based at the Cambridge Research Institute and Addenbrookes’s Hospital and is led by James Brenton. It is involved in cutting-edge clinical and laboratory research into ovarian cancer and comprises a multi-disciplinary team, including oncologists, pathologists, radiologists and surgeons involved in clinical and translational research.
Her post is to develop user interface tools specific to ovarian research in Epic and the research IT infrastructure that support the acquisition, extraction and analysis of accurate clinical data. Working with the clinical informatics team and in a close research team comprising ovarian clinical research nurses, data managers and scientific staff.
Karen received her BSc in Computer Science from the University of Hertfordshire in 1997. She has over 15 years previous experience as a Senior Analyst/Developer in the complete software development life cycle from business analysis to user acceptance. Implementing and developing complex IT solutions for the financial sector.
